To begin with you'll have to log into your router and to do this you open a web-browser and type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. Then press the "Enter" key on your keyboard and the page below is shown.
Enter the password for the routers login page. If this is the first time you log into the router then leave the password field blank and click "LOGIN" and then follow the instructions below to create a new password.
If this is the first time you log into the router it will direct you to the page below. Enter a new password and then press "Apply". Remember to write the password down so you can access it in the future. NOTE: This is not the password for your wireless network.
On this page you can change a number of settings for the wireless network, but it is the "Pre-Shared Key" field that's most important since it is the password you use to connect wirelessly to your router.
This is the password that you enter on your computer to connect to your wireless network, and we recommend you to change it to a new password. Remember to mix numbers with letters from A-Z. The password must be at least eight characters long. The next time you connect to your wireless network with your computer, you need to enter this new password. If you have multiple computers and/or phones or tablet computers on your wireless network, you need to enter the new password on all of them.
Once you have made your changes, press here to save them.
Managing passwords is not easy, how do you know if a password is good or bad? MSB, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, gives good advice on their website for creating good and strong passwords (you can change language in the top menu). If you follow their recommendations, you can be sure that you get good security on your wireless network.
